Bob Graham, perhaps the most distinctive and popular politician of modern Florida history, died Tuesday. The Democratic two-term governor (1979-87) and three-term U.S. senator (1987-2005) was 87. . . The home near Windermere owned by Rep. Carolina Amesty's family-run university. Central Christian University argued it should be exempt from paying property taxes on the home that is a residence of its president, Amesty's father. The Orange County Property Appraiser disagreed, as did a special magistrate.
